Federal Employee Group Life Insurance or FEGLI is offered to all Federal employees, both full-time and part-time. FEGLI offers federal employees Basic Life Insurance, an extra age-related benefit, and three types of optional life insurance.  FEGLI is a great federal employee benefit but understanding the costs and benefits of this program and other options available to you is critical to making good decisions regarding you and your family’s future.

As employees age the premium on the Part A, B and C portions of the FEGLI program go up considerably.  The Basic portion is not aged based until the employee retires.
